(Kyi Aye (13th December 1929 – 2016)) (A photo of Kyi Aye (left), and the sketch of her (right), the artist – unknown) A very rare woman poet in Burma, Kyi Aye, an old friend of my grandparents, once lived together at Aye-Yeik-Tha in the year around 1950. Their Brief Stories (My grandpa with a Traditional Burmese clothes in 1958-59.) (U) Khin Maung Latt (1915 – 1996), my grandfather, was an English teacher, already looked like a teacher. On his face there was something, which reminds one of Sherlock Holmes. If he wore a long coat with a cherrywood pipe in his mouth, he would be a living image of Sherlock Holmes. He never smoked, but he had once a habit of smoking cigar. I knew because I saw him smoking in the photograph. But I was told that he gave up smoking since we were born. He did not wish my twin brother to follow his smoking habit. (My grandpa had a habit of smoking cigar, I knew because I saw him smoking in the photograph.) Some Part of Their Life and Their Meeting (My grandparents in 1939.) My Grandfather (U) Khin Maung Latt (My grandfather with a smile.) While my grandfather was working as a clerk at Bombay Burma Company, towards the end of 1939 labour troubles grew. The workers of the Burma Oil Company, one of the leading British forms went on strikes. He took part in it although English government did not allow their government workers involved in the uprising. He was forced to quit because of his taking part in riot. Before long he joined the Workers’ Union. A Visit to Moe-Kaung Pagoda Festival

(From the 21st December to the 31st December 2018, Moe-Kaung Pagoda Festival was held.) Moe-Kaung pagoda at Yankin township, located in the northern part of Rangoon, where the pagoda festival was held in every December. As my grandma (Khin Myo Chit) wrote, ‘Every pagoda has an annual festival.’, this month is a month of Moe-Kaung pagoda festival. The festival stayed for a week, sometimes two weeks, so people could look forward to the days of enjoyment. (The place where the Moe-Kaung pagoda stands today. Seen behind the busy road, and trees.) The locality is a busy road with daily traffic and people around. There was a large estate of Moe-Kaung monastery near the Moe-Kaung Pagoda. Monks and lay devotees always care and do maintenance for the Pagoda. The season festival on every December always takes place in the Moe-Kaung pagoda ground. Pre-Centeniel Anniversary of University of Rangoon

(My heart leaps when I saw Convocation Hall. It looks gloomy, and told me old memories.) Pre-Centeniel Anniversary of Rangoon University – 96th Anniversary of Rangoon Arts and Science University (RASU) - was held from 6st to 9th December of 2016, in four years' time. Books sales were opening for 4 days in the Campus. Bookshops were under the temporary roofs at nearby and around the lawns of the remarkable places such as Thit-Poke-Pin (Tetrameles nudiflora), Arts and Science Assemblies, Recreation Centre (RC), and Library, etc. (Bookshops, caricature, discount books-sale, and University canteen.)) People came and enjoyed wondering around there. Bookshops, photos-exhibition, caricatures, and old-books-sales were seen interestingly attract to the visitors. Sunlun Method of Vipassana Meditation is The Best Medicine

The experience of practicing meditation learnt from the meditation master Sunlun Sayadaw U Vinaya, changed our mind clear, and fresh. He taught us to practice meditation for total 100 minutes; 50 minutes for breathe hard, and another 50 minutes for keeping full mindfulness in pain that would happen during meditating until the time completed. Too tough for the beginner, but by the guidance of Sayadaw U Vinaya, the time seemed to pass quickly. It was different between practice meditation at home, and practice meditation at the monastery. A Trip to Sit-Tway (Western Burma) (Myauk-U) Part (One)

I had a trip to Sit-Tway a year ago. Sit-Tway, is a district of the Rakhine State in western Burma. We planned to visit a town, called ‘Myauk-U’ - is a township of Myauk-U district in the Rakhine State of Burma. I have never been there before. The place was not secure for the visitors because of the Rakhine State riots. But at that time, the place Myauk-U was calm and safe. ( A beautiful view of Sit-Tway airport from the plane.) We started our trip by plane in the early afternoon for 50 minutes flying. When we arrived at sit-tway airport, a native friend welcomed us, and we all went to Myauk-U by car right away. There would be four-hour driving, and in the late evening, we would reach the place for our four days' visit. (A view from the car. Trees and roughy roads are everywhere.) (A famous Rakhine Food.
