(Kyi Aye (13th December 1929 – 2016)) (A photo of Kyi Aye (left), and the sketch of her (right), the artist – unknown) A very rare woman poet in Burma, Kyi Aye, an old friend of my grandparents, once lived together at Aye-Yeik-Tha in the year around 1950. A Trip to Myauk-Oo (Sit-Tway, Western Burma) part (Six)

(The inside images of Mingalarmanaung Pagoda.) (Goodbye dear little sheep! Sweet dream!) After an hour of wandering around the Mingalarmanaung Pagoda, we decided to return. The return-walking never tired us. I could not help looking back the road I trod upon. It looked like a painting that I would like to draw when I be at home. ("When will I see all of You again,") (Country roads are all the same. They give us the smell of sand.) The next visit was to the Shaittaung Pagoda. It is a famous pagoda in Myauk Oo. The name also attracted to the visitor! 'Shaittaung' means '80,000' (eighty thousand). It represented 'Temple of 80,000 Buddha Images.' The Adventure of My Practising Sunlun Method of Vipassana Meditation (3)

To every meditation session, we had to sit cross-legs. Breathe hard for 50 minutes, and another 50 minutes for watching the sensation of pain, cramp, ache, numbness, heat or cold arisen in the body. For those total 100 minutes, we must not move a limb, or scratch, or pause or change position or open our eyes. Since my mother passed away, I no more care the pain that occurs in my body during the time of meditation. I never moved nor changed position during sitting, however the pain overloaded. The sensation of mental longing for my mom is still suffering me. ( Yes, it can not be cured, must be endured .) People may see me calm in my outer appearance even though I am smiling, but they would never know how my heart was deeply broken. They will never know my tears. I let them down free within my heart alone. Who knows, I would not dare to weep in front of my father? To cover my true feelings within my heart is now used to me. (A breakfast the hotel served us was great!) After having breakfast at the hotel, we were walking nearby and had a very nice view around. Then we returned to the place we rest and prepared for seeing the town. Paying respect the famous pagodas was our purpose of the journey. The car was ready outside to take us for a ride. (I looked back to the road we left behind, " country road, take me home ".) (The chart tells you which pagodas we must start to pay respect.) A native said that there the most sacred pagodas (including Mahamyatmuni Buddha Image) at Rakhine State which represented the Buddha’s Sacred Images, most of them were at Myauk-Oo, we should not miss paying respect. The Adventure of my Practising Sunlun Way of Vipassana Meditation (5)

‘You are not alone’ ‘We are the same’ There were three meditation sessions daily, at 7o’clock in the morning, at 12:30, and lately at 7 o’clock in the evening at the Sunlun Meditation Centre, 7th Mile. People could come at the time they liked and practiced meditation there. At every session, we had to sit cross legs and breathe hard in and out for 50 minutes. During that 50 minutes we must mindful on the touch of the air on the nostril. After breathing session, we stopped suddenly and completely on an inhaled breath. At that time we still our body sit and watched sensation of pain, cramp, ache and numbness, heat or cold which had arisen in the body for another 50 minutes. During that session we must mindful on the most painful area with much awareness. For those total 100 minutes we must sit still and do not open our eyes. (A museum we left behind at the place of Sandamuni Buddha Image.) (On the passing by, we saw an old wall that we missed from the ancient time. ) Zina-Man-Aung Buddha Image was our next drop. It was donated by King Sanda Thuddhamma during A.D.1652. (The flowers vases are always at the front to offer at the foot of the pagoda.) A Visit To The Shwedagon Pagoda

(Still crowded, and crowded at the pagoda platform whether it rained heavily or under the bad weather.) People visited to the Shwedagon Pagoda frequently. Paying respect at the foot of the pagoda is one of the ways of Buddhist life. People crowded at the Pagoda platform every time we visited. Practice meditation, offering flowers, candles, incenses or colorful things, or walking on the pagoda platform mostly as keeping the Shwedagon Pagoda at the right side, or praying, etc that Buddhists usually do. In Burma we could see the cave drawings, or the frescoes painted on the walls of the temples from old Bagan city. Because of those drawings as ancient inscriptions, we learnt the Buddha’s life, or the ancient history of the old king. Apart from the ancient stories, the comic art, or the terms comic and comic strips started in World War II at the Rangoon Time Newspaper in English, established in 1912. Burmese Cartoon Descends From Monkey? It was because of the first cartoon appeared as celebrating Christmas at the supplementary issue of the Rangoon Time Newspaper on the Christmas day of 1912.
