(Still crowded, and crowded at the pagoda platform whether it rained heavily or under the bad weather.) People visited to the Shwedagon Pagoda frequently. Paying respect at the foot of the pagoda is one of the ways of Buddhist life. People crowded at the Pagoda platform every time we visited. Seasonal Flowers, and Bonus Flowers in the Summer 2015

This summer is so hot and there was a hardful warning to everyone from the daily weather report. It said ultraviolet rays have now high radiation. It was dangerous if we were going outside between 11am and 3pm. But wait! There were beautiful nature beauties await us. The seasonal flowers called Kankaw (Mesua Ferrea) blooming in this month. Kankaw flowers are everywhere in the market place, and women love to buy and wear on their head. I also love to buy some Kankaw flowers, and put at our household shrine. (Kankaw flowers in the garden.) Luckily, we met another bonus flowers blooming in this hard weather. This summer might be a lucky month. We met rain and thunder in this hottest month. The Burmese new year falls on the second week of April as begins on 13 th april and will end on 16 th april. April 12, 2012 will be the welcomed day of our Burmese New Year. The true spirit of the water festival is to have nice clean fun with dear friends sprinkling water on the one another. Children especially enjoy throwing water on one another. Novitiation is the symbol of thingyan festival in a Buddhist family. It is one of the New Year activities. A Trip to Sit-Tway (Western Burma) Part (3)

(A breakfast the hotel served us was great!) After having breakfast at the hotel, we were walking nearby and had a very nice view around. Then we returned to the place we rest and prepared for seeing the town. Paying respect the famous pagodas was our purpose of the journey. The car was ready outside to take us for a ride. In my literary life, in 2008, my translated book ‘Alice in Wonderland’ in Burmese was awarded from Tun Foundation for the Children Literary Genre. At that time, I created a blog and posted my articles in Burmese as juniorwin. Still at the time, I had no intention to write in English. I dare not to write. My mother always encouraged me to write in English like my grandmother. That’s why I created a blog; juniorwin-english at the blogger.com, but I did not post a line there so far. In 2011, because of my mother’s encouragement, I started to write in English in this blog, which was created since 2008. After a year, my twin brother, Maung Yit, the editor of Moemaka.com (eng.moemaka.net) published the collection of my articles in English as ebook. (Burmese Kankaw tree. High, and difficult to pick their flowers.) There were two kinds of Kan Kaw (Mesua Ferra) trees; Burmese Kan Kaw, and Thai Kan Kaw. Burmese Kan Kaw bloomed on the summer season. They liked hot, and dried weather. They were a kind of tall trees. During the summer season, their flowers flourished beautifully on the whole. (I plant Mesua Ferra tree in front of my house, near Household shrine.) Thai Kan Kaw bloomed all the season. Its height was not as tall as the Burmese Kan Kaw. I planted Thai Kan Kaw in my garden, because I wanted to see Kan Kaw flowers in every season. Both liked sun light, and water. This tree I have planted for more than a year ago. I bought it at the market. Its height was about 3 feet, and it had already 6 or 7 buds. These buds attracted me so much. The seller said they would bloom in a week. Novitiation Ceremony

(Shwedagon Pagoda.) Today I went to the Shwedagon Pagoda with my aunt, and paid respect at the foot of the pagoda. Before we left I saw a long queue represented the showing of the novitiation ceremony. It was one of the traditions of giving respect. Everybody around was excited to see them, and could not help saying ‘Well done’ three times. (The first lady carried a tray of offerings; green coconuts with a long stem, bananas, Thapyay (Eugenia) leaves, and colorful things (the eternal items in all family rituals) on her head. She played a very important part in this ceremony. The tray seemed heavy! (Look at her face!) (A strong man should do it instead of her! I think.) (Girls wore, and act as county style.)
